Safety Stations

There are 7 Safety Stations along the course. They are there for you and your safety.

These Safety Stations will be manned along the course from Friday 4 December – Sunday 6 December. These stations are intended to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. If at any time when crossing a Safety Station you need assistance please ask. If you seem to be struggling or having physical problems you will be asked. The Stations are manned by Missouri Park Rangers and are there to assist you as needed and ensure your overall safety. Your safety and physical well-being are our number one priority.

Below are the Safety Station locations:

Safety Station 1: Goggin Mountain and the Ozark Trail intersection, mile 7

Safety Station 2: Hwy N Crossing, mile 11.5.

Safety Station 3: Black River Crossing, mile 13.5.

Safety Station 4: Proffit Mountain Power Line/Trail Intersection, mile 20 and 34.5.

Safety Station 5: Bottom Mina Sauk Falls, mile 26.

Safety Station 6: Taum Sauk Mountain, mile 27.5.

Safety Station 7: JSI Black River Trail (Warrior Course)

If you reach a Safety Station and are injured or feel it’s as far as you can go do not hesitate to ask to be pulled from the course. To do this:

  1. All team members must be present.
  2. The Official Roster with the Rangers must be updated to annotate the new team organization.
  3. Once this is confirmed by the Rangers the remaining team members may continue on the course.
  4. Rangers will coordinate transportation for the pulled participant back to Johnson Shut-Ins Black River Center Parking lot and/or the finish line.
  5. If emergency medical support is required Rangers on the scene will coordinate.
